SAP Development Lead

The SAP Development Lead serves as the technical lead and subject matter expert for SAP S/4HANA development at United Parks. This role is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing optimization of SAP solutions supporting enterprise business operations. The position provides hands-on technical leadership across SAP S/4HANA, ABAP, SAP BTP, and integration technologies, while ensuring solutions align with SAP clean core principles and United Parks’ long-term ERP roadmap.

The SAP Development Lead partners closely with functional teams, IT leadership, and external vendors to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing SAP solutions that support business transformation and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

SAP Technical Leadership

• Serve as the primary technical lead for SAP S/4HANA development initiatives across the enterprise

• Own technical architecture decisions related to SAP custom development, enhancements, and integrations

• Provide expert guidance on SAP clean core strategy, ensuring long-term system stability and upgrade readiness

• SAP Development & Solution Design

• Lead hands-on development using ABAP for SAP HANA, including custom objects, reports, enhancements, interfaces, and forms

• Design and implement SAP S/4HANA solutions aligned with best practices and business requirements

• Support SAP BTP-based development and extension scenarios to minimize core customization

Integration & Data

• Design and support integrations using SAP Integration Suite, PI, and related middleware

• Oversee data migration and transformation activities related to S/4HANA implementations and enhancements

• Ensure data integrity, performance optimization, and secure data flows across systems

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with SAP functional leads (Finance, Supply Chain, HR, etc.) to translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Act as a trusted technical advisor to business stakeholders and IT leadership

• Coordinate with external consultants and implementation partners as needed

Governance, Quality & Support

• Establish and enforce SAP development standards, documentation, and code quality practices

• Review technical designs and code to ensure performance, security, and scalability

• Support production systems, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

• Extensive SAP development experience with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA

• Deep expertise in ABAP for SAP HANA

• Strong experience with SAP Integration Suite, PI, and enterprise integrations

• Demonstrated experience supporting SAP data migration and system modernization initiatives

Preferred Qualifications & Certifications

• SAP Certified Development Specialist – ABAP for SAP HANA

• S/4HANA Cloud Record of Achievement

• Managing Clean Core for SAP certification

• Experience leveraging SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
