The School Lunch Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the school cafeteria at Saint Mary Academy. Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to students and staff in accordance with established nutritional guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the cafeteria, including tables, serving areas, and kitchen equipment.
- Support inventory management by receiving deliveries, organizing supplies, and reporting shortages to supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during food handling and service.
- Engage with students in a friendly and respectful manner to foster a positive dining atmosphere.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting as required.
- Clear background check and eligibility to work in a school setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or cafeteria work.
- Certification in food handling or safety (e.g., ServSafe).
