Evaluation Period: Annual performance evaluations if the student works the entire academic year. If the student works one semester, the performance evaluation will be completed after that semester
Purpose: The Office Assistant and Social Media/Web Coordinator will support the operations of the School of Business & Communication and contribute to maintenance of web and social media content.
Position dates: This position begins in S2-26 or S4-26 and can continue with satisfactory performance of your duties, the availability of work and the availability of departmental funds.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with administrative duties and projects as assigned (e.g. answer phone, greet guests, maintain inventory, coordinate mailings, make copies).
- Assist the School with managing a social media content calendar, creating posts and event announcements, monitoring conversations about MSJ, and measuring the effectiveness of overall efforts.
- Schedule coordinated content on a biweekly basis with established weekly outreach activities (e.g. 1-3 posts per week, # of call/texts per week.).
- Monitor and manage School of Business & Communication social media accounts for Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and TikTok to highlight the activities of students, faculty, and alumni.
- Be comfortable interpreting data and performing data entry and composing written communications.
- Make changes and updates to web content as needed.
- This position requires communication and coordination with multiple faculty members, Coordinator, and the Dean, as well as consultation with members of the University Communications team and other members of the campus community.
