What We Can Achieve Together:

The Nature Conservancy’s Internships @TNC program offers paid, 8-week summer engagement opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates. Internships may be based out of locations around the United States and gain hands-on experience that connects academic learning with real-world conservation work. 

As part of this internship program, you’ll step into a supportive learning environment where your perspective truly matters! Interns will contribute new insights to real projects and collaborate with teams across the Conservancy to explore creative solutions.

Participants receive a structured and engaging onboarding week, professional development and training, meaningful mentorship, and valuable networking opportunities all while contributing to impactful projects that support our mission. 

This 8-week engagement will begin on Monday, June 15 – Friday, August 7, 2026. Interns will be required to complete a capstone project.

We’re Looking for You:

To help advance our 2030 goals, The Nature Conservancy is investing in the power of science and the stories that bring it to life, and we’re looking for one committed intern to join us in that mission. Our work sits at the intersection of people, nature, and innovation, where creative communication and curiosity are essential. We’re seeking a purpose‑driven, enthusiastic individual who’s excited to translate complex science into engaging social media and digital content. If you’re inspired by conservation, energized by storytelling, and eager to make a meaningful impact for the planet and its people, this role is an opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to something bigger.

What You’ll Bring:

Project(s):

  • Science Social Media Content Development
  • Short‑Form Video Production

Task(s):

  • Draft posts, captions, and visual concepts for TNC science platforms on LinkedIn and Bluesky.
  • Edit and produce short videos for Bluesky (mainly scientist interviews).

Responsibility:

  • Translate scientific findings into clear, engaging, audience‑friendly content.
  • Increase engagement through creative, high‑impact video storytelling.

Goal(s):

  • Strengthen TNC Science’s digital presence and make our scientific work more accessible and inspiring.
  • Increase engagement through creative, high‑impact video storytelling.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, graduate program, or a recent graduate (within six months) of advertising, communications (science, technical, or other related specialties), journalism, marketing, environmental science, digital media, or a related field.
  • Experience using MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Understanding of social media platforms and content creation, including familiarity with posting, scheduling, and platform norms on LinkedIn and Bluesky.
  • Comfortable creating content in Canva and Adobe Premiere Pro (or other comparable video editing software). 
  • Experience creating digital content, such as social posts, short‑form videos, graphics, or written communication for public audiences. 

Salary Information:

The pay rate for the selected candidate is $22/hr.
