About this role

SUMMARY: The Seasonal Human Resources Generalist will assist the Human Resources department during a peak time of the year. This key member of the team will be assigned to Onboarding and Employment Administration, Employee Relations, Talent/Performance Management and Training and Continuous Improvement Initiatives.  Works with and under the direction of the department manager and as part of a collaborative team.  A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Strict Confidentiality is required. This assignment is expected to run for approximately 3 months.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead and fully execute effectively key HR projects or initiatives that support Kayem’s policies, vision, and culture within the HR function and across the organization.
  • Lead, manage, and participate in Human Resources Functional areas including: Employment administration, Onboarding, Offboarding administration, Compensation/Benefits/Leaves, Employee relations and engagement, Performance management, and Training.
  • Plan, Lead, manage and participate in projects.  (i.e. conducting town halls and education and training)
  • Identify data collection tools, data sources, benchmarks and performance targets.  Performs Data analysis and Management reporting.
  • Manages (develops, writes, translates) internal policies and company communications.
  • Maintains and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Leads/participates in additional projects as needed/assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree or Senior year in College candidate preferred. 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills are needed.  This key member of our team must be independent, results oriented, customer focused, organized and detail oriented.  Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and drive projects independently.

  • Ability to learn new information quickly (i.e. technology, compliance related matters, significant initiatives)
  • Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality.
  • Must have the ability to work onsite in our Chelsea, Massachusetts location and on 2nd and 3rd shift occasionally for company meetings, events or to meet with team members.
  • Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and drive projects independently. 
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is required.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PPT in a MS Teams environment.

The base pay range for this role is $25.00-$40.00 per hour, based on education and experience. 

The listed pay range represents Kayem Foods’ good faith estimate for this position and represents the minimum and maximum for new hire pay ranges.

Ranges are reviewed on a regular basis. An employee’s rate of pay within the range is determined by their qualifications, relevant experience, and demonstrated performance over time. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued wage growth. This position is eligible for our comprehensive benefits package and is eligible for an annual wage review. Kayem Foods complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws.
