Position: Secretary/Accountant f (S66)
Location: Central Office
Classification: G1

Salary Range: Service_Salary_Schedule_2024_Annual.pdf (core-docs.s3.amazonaws.com) based on experience and education level per Putnam County Board of Education salary schedule plus a competitive benefits package to include: PEIA insurance, retirement, life insurance, and free vision and dental insurance.
Job Description: The Secretary/Accountant works cooperatively with other Central Office staff to ensure that correspondence, reports, records, files and other activities assigned to the secretary/accountant are addressed in an efficient and effective manner.
Qualifications: Holds a high school diploma or GED.
Holds “Secretary” and “Accountant” classifications.
Has knowledge and skills necessary to operate a personal computer.
Length of Employment: 261 Days
Responsibilities: The Secretary/Accountant shall have the following responsibilities and duties:
- To direct telephone calls to the appropriate Central Office staff member.
- To assign passes to all visitors and monitor their presence in the building.
- To prepare contracts for all service personnel.
- To prepare contracts for all substitute teachers and extra-duty assignments.
- To type all personnel action forms and distribute them to appropriate staff.
- To type and prepare for printing the Employee Directory.
- To verify eligibility for work permits.
- To type Proof of Enrollment Forms for drivers’ permits, as needed.
- To receive and file all job vacancy applications.
- To record school delays, early dismissals and closings on the telephone system.
- To type letters, reports or memoranda assigned by the Director of Personnel and/or Superintendent.
- To assist in the filing process for all personnel documents.
- To perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Personnel and/or Superintendent.
Daily Schedule: Currently – 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Effective Employment Date: July 01, 2026
