About this role
WHO WE ARE
The Security Analyst I role is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of securing the various information systems within AVI-SPL. This role is tasked with providing technical expertise in all areas of network, system, and application security. This position works closely with the various teams within the IT department to ensure that systems and networks are always designed, developed, deployed and managed with an emphasis on strong, effective security and risk management controls.
This role supports West Coast business hours. Candidates must be located in the Pacific Time Zone or be willing to work Pacific Time hours.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
- Proactively monitor the environment to detect and implement steps to mitigate cyber-attacks before they occur
- Review, investigate, and respond to real-time alerts within the environment
- Manage the relationship with security teams (3rd party vendors) to perform tests and uncover network vulnerabilities
- Fixing detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard
- Installing security measures and operating software (e.g., firewalls and data encryption programs) to protect systems and information infrastructure
- Monitor online security-related resources for new and emerging cyber threats
- Research and provide recommendations to senior management on security enhancements to implement
- Manage all itrisk inquiries and perform first pass on all RFP’s submitted for all opportunities
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in information security or a related field
- Preferred experience in utilizing Microsoft 365 admin products (Defender, Intune, Purview)
- Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Be a proficient problem-solver that is able to work autonomously
- Ability to work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously and display effective prioritization while multitasking
- Demonstrate time management skills with attention to detail
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two or Four-years’ experience in the IT/Security environment
- One or more of the following certifications: CompTIA Security+, CC
