About the Department
The Louisiana Office of Juvenile Justice (OJJ) is committed to protecting the public by providing safe and effective individualized services to youth, who will become productive, law-abiding citizens. We are seeking responsible and vigilant individuals to serve as Security Officer (WAE). These part time/as-needed roles support the safety and security of juvenile justice facilities by helping maintain order, prevent incidents, and promote a safe environment for youth, staff, and visitors. This position is ideal for candidates who are flexible, dependable, and passionate about public service and youth rehabilitation.
Position Duties
Minimum Qualifications: A valid Louisiana Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma

Supervision Received:
Close from a Juvenile Justice Specialist 4 or higher level position.
Supervision Exercised:
None.
Other Qualifications
Job Duties:
Monitor entrances, exits, and facility grounds to ensure security and prevent unauthorized access
Conduct routine patrols and report any safety concerns or suspicious activity
Assist in emergency situations, including evacuations or incident response
Enforce facility rules and support staff in maintaining order
Complete logs, incident reports, and other documentation as required
Provide courteous assistance to visitors, staff, and youth while maintaining professional boundaries
Work Location: This vacancy is located at Bridge City Center for Youth in Bridge City, Louisiana.
Compensation: $18.00 per hour.
Appointment Type: This is a part time/WAE position.
Work Details: The incumbent of this position will serve as a part time Food Production Worker, working 24 hours a week.
The incumbent of this position must not have been convicted or pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in R.S. 15:587.1 (c).
