About this role

Job Title: Security Responder

Role Focus: Patrol & Site Security, Incident Response, and Access Control

Job Summary

The Security Responder is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of site operations through proactive patrols, rapid incident response, and accurate security documentation. This role serves as a first responder to security events, supports access control operations, and maintains continuous communication with security command centers and site leadership to ensure compliance with security standards and response expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Patrol & Site Security

  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols of production and non-production areas, including colocation spaces (colos), cages, HBI racks, alarmed doors, and other critical environments.
  • Perform deliberate door and locking mechanism checks to confirm all areas are secured and free from signs of tampering.
  • Complete Routine, Enhanced, Critical Environment (CE), and Camera patrols as assigned.
  • Accurately document patrol results in accordance with established procedures.

Incident & Alarm Response

  • Respond to dispatched incidents, alarms, and security events as directed by CRS, PSOC, or site leadership.
  • Act as the first responder on scene by securing affected areas, gathering time-sensitive information, and preserving evidence without conducting follow‑up investigations.
  • Escalate incidents appropriately and within required response time thresholds to ensure timely resolution.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Accurately document patrols, security observations, and incidents using Desk Journal entries, Patrol Checklists, Security Action Reports (SARs), and other required systems.
  • Ensure consistency of documentation across systems and compliance with audit and regulatory standards.
  • Record non-routine events that interrupt patrols, including actions taken and notifications made.

Access Control & Key Management

  • Support access control operations, including security escorts, secured rack checks, and hard key procedures, as directed.
  • Conduct enhanced patrols associated with secured rack key returns and verify racks are properly locked and secured.
  • Assist with screening or Security Operations Center (SOC) functions when required, without compromising patrol responsibilities.

Communication & Shift Support

  • Maintain continuous communication with CRS, PSOC, and site leadership during patrols and incident responses.
  • Participate in shift pass-downs to ensure critical information is communicated to incoming personnel.
  • Provide surge support to screening or other security operations when directed.
