Role summary:
The Senior Analyst, Claims Litigation, is responsible for managing complex workers’ compensation and general liability claims, focusing on those involving litigation or potential litigation. This role involves reviewing claim reports, coordinating with internal and external legal partners, and overseeing litigation strategies to ensure timely and effective resolution. The position requires negotiation expertise, claims adjudication within authority limits, and compliance with regulatory standards. The analyst also mentors colleagues, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborates across teams to align claims management with organizational goals and operational excellence.
About the team:
The Claims Litigation team manages complex workers’ compensation and general liability claims with a focus on litigation risk and resolution. Collaborating closely with leadership, in-house, and outside counsel, the team develops strategies to ensure timely and effective settlements. Responsibilities include claim reviews, negotiation, and overseeing legal processes while maintaining regulatory compliance. The team emphasizes continuous improvement through knowledge sharing and mentoring, driving results aligned with organizational goals. Expertise in litigation management, claims resolution, negotiation strategies, claims processing, and legal discovery is essential to support business needs and uphold company standards.
What you'll do:
  • Review initial claim reports to gather facts, documentation, and evidence for compensability or negligence assessment.
  • Identify and escalate potential fraud indicators to leadership for further investigation.
  • Manage complex workers’ compensation and general liability claims, focusing on litigated or high-risk cases.
  • Collaborate with leadership and counsel to establish claim value, strategy, and resolution paths.
  • Oversee outside counsel to monitor litigation progress and ensure timely resolution.
  • Negotiate and resolve claims with involved parties, ensuring well-supported settlement decisions.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal procedures while meeting key performance metrics.
  • Mentor associates on complex claims handling and litigation processes.

What you'll bring:
  • Extensive experience managing complex workers’ compensation and general liability claims with a focus on litigation risk.
  • Proficiency in litigation management, claims resolution, and negotiation strategies to achieve timely and effective outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of claims processing, legal discovery, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal leadership, in-house counsel, and outside counsel to align on strategy and resolution paths.
  • Demonstrated skill in evaluating claim compensability, identifying fraud indicators, and establishing accurate reserves within authority limits.
  • Effective communication skills for engaging with injured parties and legal stakeholders.
  • Commitment to maintaining required state licensure and meeting performance metrics.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and 2 years’ experience in claims handling.
Option 2: 4 years’ experience in claims handling, including experience with complex or litigated workers’ compensation or general liability claims.
Current or prior (within last 3 years) Property & Casualty Adjuster License.
