About this role
As part of the Finance Data Governance (FDG) within Corporate Controllership, this role is responsible for bringing and managing data under governance for Finance.
Finance Data Governance (FDG) team is leading the effort of defining the future roadmap for data governance within Finance and ensuring that trusted information is used for critical processes, decision making, and accounting across various finance processes.
As a FDG Senior Analyst, you will be part of a growing team of data management professionals focused on providing world-class data management and data governance solutions. You will partner closely with Finance Technology Transformation, Enterprise Data Governance, Controllership, Risk, and other teams to drive data governance and data quality within Finance.
The FDG Senior Analyst is a collaborator, a well-organized, action-oriented team player with strong time management skills, confident in presenting, facilitating, and building a network of strong relationships across our organization.
Responsibilities
- Finance Data Governance in compliance with the Enterprise Data Governance Policy ensuring the appropriate accountability model and processes for data asset management, metadata management, data quality, and issue resolution.
- Produce data quality scorecards, dashboards, analytical reports, and attestation packages for all processes in scope.
- Collaboration and communication with the full scope of project partners of various band levels (FDG, tech engineers, tech POs, report team, etc.).
- Managing multiple high-priority projects with various deadlines.
- Provide support on each step of data activation. Collaborating with other team members as well as leadership, as required, to ensure timelines are met.
- Perform root-cause-analysis of data quality issues and assist in remediation of Audit and Regulatory feedback.
- Support strategic improvements to data assessment process and making necessary enhancements to data analytical and data quality tools.
- Continuing to support our current Regulatory Reporting needs via existing platforms working with our upstream data providers, downstream business partners, as well as technologies.
- Support development and maintenance of business glossary, data integration, data lineage, and data management activities.
- Validate completeness of data lineage between the point of data element creation (system of record) and the point where it is consumed by business users.
Provide ongoing support for metadata implementation, testing and integration.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems or equivalent experience.
- 2-3 years of experience in Finance
- Demonstrated understanding of metadata practices such as data lineage, data dictionaries, business glossaries, Data Quality rules, source system inventories, etc.
- Strong technical and data analysis skills and prior experience with SQL
- Prior experience of data governance, metadata, and data lineage tools such as, Collibra, MANTA
- Ability to collect business requirements and use them to guide implementation of a technical solution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive, ability to manage multiple assignments and projects concurrently.
- Experience of Finance, Banking, Insurance or similar industries is a strong plus.
- Strong excel and other technical skills.
- Strong relationship skills and communication is essential as this analyst will partner with multiple groups e.g., Business process owners, Technologies, and Enterprise Data Governance.
