American Express Credit & Fraud Risk Management is home to industry-leading fraud strategy professionals who leverage data, analytics, technology, and operational expertise to protect our customers while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

The Bank Money Movement Servicing Team within Credit & Fraud Risk is a first-line risk organization responsible for designing and optimizing fraud servicing strategies across digital banking products, including ACH, wire transfers, and real-time payments. The team partners closely with Fraud Operations, Product, Technology, Legal, Compliance, and Servicing organizations to improve fraud detection, strengthen operational capabilities, respond to emerging fraud threats, and deliver scalable servicing solutions.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving analytical problems, identifying fraud trends, working with data, and partnering across teams to improve fraud outcomes while balancing customer experience. This role will support the design, execution, and monitoring of fraud servicing strategies through analytics, operational support, and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

Role Responsibilities 

  • Analyze fraud, operational, and customer data to identify trends, investigate issues, and support fraud servicing strategies.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of fraud strategies across digital banking money movement products.
  • Perform SQL/SAS analysis and develop recurring reports and dashboards to monitor fraud performance and key risk indicators.
  • Partner with Fraud Operations, Product, Technology, and other cross-functional teams to support strategy enhancements and operational improvements.
  • Assist in fraud investigations, root cause analysis, and evaluation of emerging fraud trends.
  • Document business requirements, operating procedures, and process changes to support strategy implementation and regulatory compliance.
  • Support risk assessments, control monitoring, and audit readiness activities.
  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to team members and business partners. stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, technical, or business-related field, or equivalent work experience in risk management, with exposure to deposit, fraud, or operational risk; advanced degree in data science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or business is a plus
  • 1 year of experience in financial services, risk, analytics, operations, or related field
  • Ability to query large datasets using tools such as SQL, Hive, Python, R, SAS, Excel and Tableau 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with data and draw clear insights 

  • Demonstrated curiosity, learning agility, and interest in risk management, fraud, or financial services 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Actimize 
  • Experience in a first or second line fraud or credit risk role, policy, strategy, or operations specialty 
  • Experience in management / optimization of fraud prevention tools 
  • Direct experience working with cross-functional internal teams and external vendors to implement strategies and drive results 
  • Experience in Scam detection and servicing
  • Experience delivering in an agile environment 
  • Ability to work autonomously
