Position Summary:

Since 1961, the Wellborn family has owned and operated Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. The goal is to provide kitchen and bath cabinets crafted by dedicated Wellborn employees with the utmost quality and care. Today, over 55 years later, the product line has broadened to include cabinetry and storage solutions to help maximize the total home living space. As a point of contact between the factory and our customer, this role will employ care and organizational skill to continue to make Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. the most valued provider of permanent home cabinets designed for a lifetime of gracious living.

 

The incumbent in this position supports the activities and responsibilities of Purchasing at 1st Haven.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily Management of all purchased materials.
  • Responsible for Training/Directing material Buyer.
  • Working closely with vendors for product allocation to support the business.
  • Responsible for submitting/insuring purchase orders are submitted.
  • Receiving in SAP – insuring receivers align with purchase orders.
  • Work closely with Plant Manager to support any increases in sales.
  • Build and Maintain good working relationships with Vendors
  • Coordinate with Transportation for delivery of materials.
  • Manage/process all requisitions in to purchase orders after approvals.
  • Work closely with receiving/warehouse personnel to insure accuracy and quality

  • Ability to stay-on-task, follow safety guidelines and work process procedures.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Computer experience required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel  
  • Possesses a willingness to learn new ways to enhance productivity.
  • Ability to handle high stress levels

 

 

Education and Experience

  • Previous Purchasing experience preferred

Position has recurring work situations that involve having a high attention to detail and service results. It is important that Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. Safety protocols be followed as a guide for operational direction. Failing to follow prescribed guidelines will waste resources and adversely impact performance.

 

Working Conditions:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Ability to work flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Employee is subject to outside and inside environmental conditions; inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change. Must be able to endure the extreme heat of summer weather.

  • Frequently required use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear clearly.

  • Exposure to paint fumes and or chemicals.
