About the Department
The Part-time Senior Center Operator 1 role with the Lehigh County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is a chance to make a meaningful difference every day. This position supports multiple senior centers and helps keep daily operations running smoothly. Your work will help create welcoming spaces where older adults can stay active and engaged. Position Duties
This part-time position provides support across senior centers by assisting with daily operations, activities, and community outreach. The on-the-job training program is designed to develop the skills and abilities necessary for handling food and doing public contact work. As a Senior Center Operator 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Daily Operations: Assist with general center functions and maintain a welcoming environment
- Activity Support: Help plan and carry out programs that promote social engagement
- Community Outreach: Build connections with local groups to enhance resources for participants
- Food Service Monitoring: Observe food handling processes and support meal service as needed
- Center Coverage: Provide staffing support when other centers require additional help
- Technical Skills: Ability to work within Microsoft software to create fliers, calendars, spreadsheets, etc. for advertising and organizational purposes
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Part-time employment
- Work hours are 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Lehigh County. If no eligible candidates who live within Lehigh County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
