About this role

Deploys physical plant cabling systems as instructed. Implements infrastructure for Oracle data centers. Builds relationships with Program Management teams to support completion of project deliverables on time. Begins to collaborate with vendors to deliver build out of data center infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
Data Center Design & Implementation-Cabling Infrastructure:
-Contributes to designs for structured cabling solutions for new data center builds and expansions. 
-Deploys physical plant cabling systems as instructed. 
-Adheres to global data center cabling and infrastructure standards. 
-Troubleshoots standard and non-standard cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords. 
Data Center Design & Implementation-Implementation & Continuous Improvement:
-Implements infrastructure for Oracle data centers. 
-Delivers sustainable and repeatable solutions to support the continuous improvement of data centers. 
Project Management-Project Planning:
-Understands the scope of project work by reviewing the Bill of Materials and resources available and reviews the project roadmap to align with the scope and business needs. 
-Prioritizes customer experience in project planning and delivery. 
Project Management-Reporting & Documentation:
-Builds relationships with Program Management teams to support completion of project deliverables on time. 
-Reports on and documents project updates to inform team leads of status and roadblocks. 
-Maintains documentation on cabling and build standards for data center infrastructure. 
Vendor Management:
-Begins to collaborate with vendors to deliver build out of data center infrastructure. 
-Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with internal project stakeholders.

-Independently identifies and addresses standard and non-standard issues in accordance with standard practices, escalating more complex issues as appropriate. Analyzes data and/or information from multiple sources to troubleshoot standard and non-standard errors. Contributes to knowledge sharing and best practices.

-Embraces continuous learning by actively seeking to build knowledge and new skills and/or tools and staying current with industry trends and best practices. Seeks out and leverages feedback and training to improve skills. Contributes to a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing with team members.

-Develops ideas and recommends updates to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of processes, protocols, and workflows within a team. Seeks input from team members on alternative approaches and methods for improving work.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
8 years of experience in engineering or data center operations

OR

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field AND 4 years of experience in engineering or data center operations.

Job Skills:
Technical Leadership:Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentoring on projects.
Quality Assurance: Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out quality assurance activities for high-standard deliverables.
Vendor Management: Demonstrated ability to select, onboard, and manage vendor relationships to ensure optimal performance.
Troubleshooting: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Network Architecture: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply principles of network architecture, including the design, implementation, and management of network infrastructure.
Solution Architecture: Demonstrated ability to architect end-to-end solutions that meet both business and technical requirements.
Structured Cabling Deployment: Demonstrated experience in managing or executing structured cabling projects for enterprise environments.

Preferred Job Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
8 years of experience in engineering or data center operations

OR

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field AND 4 years of experience in engineering or data center operations.
CNet Certification:
Certified Network Cable Installer certification.
