About this role

Position

Louis Vuitton Americas is seeking a Senior Director of Distribution Planning. This leadership role involves supervising a team of 13 individuals and overseeing distribution strategies for all categories within our permanent portfolios. The Senior Director will be responsible for actively leading the distribution organization's efforts in store replenishment, inventory management and efficiency, and transformation & project management. This role is critical for driving supply chain performance across Louis Vuitton North America's (LVNA) entire retail network and digital business.

Job responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Team Leadership

  • Lead and manage a team of 13 individuals, including 3 senior managers, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Cultivate strong collaborative relationships with diverse departments including Demand Planning, Transversal Distribution, Digital, Merchandising (all categories), Retail Regions, and Stores.
  • Conduct regular market visits to gather insights and understand evolving retail needs.

Inventory & Flow Management

  • Monitors the distribution of product from the regional warehouse to stores or e-commerce through data analysis, retail and merchandising teams' feedback.
  • Works in partnership with Merchandising & Demand Planning to define rules for best service level to Retail.
  • Auto-Replenishment: set the right inventory levels (max levels) in quantity to optimize our availability rate and stock coverage in stores to maximize sell- through.
    • Anticipate and give visibility on process for any peak seasons
    • To develop Les Extraordinaires stock availability on all our high-end categories
  • Defines delivery information flows to merchandising & stores.
  • Manages the principles of store-to-store rebalancing.
  • Month of coverage monitoring to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Animating monthly routing with Retail Regions to train and animate around Supply Chain initiatives & guidelines.
  • To lead the Transformation Team and regularly propose continuous improvement initiatives.

Communication

  • Ensure strong working partnerships and seamless communication with Merchandising & Retail teams.
  • Provide regular and insightful information to Central Supply Chain teams and Paris headquarters.
  • Collaborate with the Logistics Director/Team to identify and implement opportunities for lead time optimization.
  • Streamline communication channels to stores, ensuring clarity and efficiency.
  • Provide proactive information to the Warehouse to better manage capacity and workload planning.

Profile

The ideal candidate will possess: 

  • Leadership & People Development: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, utilizing a coaching approach to foster individual growth.
  • Supply Chain & Transformation Expertise: Outstanding analytical skills applied to supply chain management and successful execution of transformation projects. Possesses a strong understanding of Supply Chain SOPs and change management principles.
  • Innovation & Collaboration: Drives agility and continuous innovation to seize new opportunities. Excellent communication and influence skills for effective stakeholder engagement, coupled with a strong ability to collaborate in cross-functional environments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in essential systems such as Order Management Systems, Anaplan, and Power BI.

The appointed candidate will be offered a salary within USD $200,000 - $260,000 annually, comprehensive benefits package including: medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, various paid time off programs, employee discounts/perks and two retirement plans both with employer contributions.

This position requires 4 days per week on site in the Louis Vuitton Corporate Office, located in the heart of Midtown, Manhattan.
