About this role
Specific Job Functions:
- Develop and write policies and procedures, counsel management on the interpretation of policies as well as local, state, and federal laws.
- Ensure the company is in compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreement(s), local, state, and federal laws.
- Prepare for grievance cases and represent parties at board of adjustments hearings and arbitrations.
- Manage and provide direction to staff in areas of investigations, disciplinary actions, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and suspension pending investigation cases.
- Conduct due process meetings.
- Manage assigned labor and employee relations functions to ensure they are consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, the division, and the property.
- Manage the delivery and measurement of service within Employee Relations consistent with the company’s core service standards.
- Work with the Legal Department on any NERC, EEOC, NLRB charges and litigation cases.
- Handle and investigate complaints of harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.
- Post and file separation transactions in UKG PRO (Ultimate Kronos Group).
- Perform all duties as deemed necessary for the success of the department.
Qualifactions
- Three to five years of experience in an employee relations, labor relations, or related capacity preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (reading, writing, and speaking) preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft office applications.
- Knowledge of all federal, state, and local regulations and compliance requirements.
- Ability to interact with all levels of management and employees and build partnerships.
- The ability to demonstrate independence in work related projects is necessary.
- Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills.
- Ability to enforce the organization’s policies, practices, and procedures.
