About this role

Description

We're seeking a Senior Product Manager, Technical to define and own the product strategy for reinforcement learning (RL) on Amazon SageMaker AI. You'll shape how customers leverage reinforcement learning to align, customize, and improve foundation models and AI systems.

Reinforcement learning is at the heart of how the most capable AI systems are built today. From aligning foundation models to optimizing complex multi-step reasoning and decision-making systems, RL has moved from a research curiosity to a production-critical capability. Yet for most customers, RL remains difficult to adopt—requiring deep expertise, complex infrastructure, and significant experimentation. We need a product leader who can make reinforcement learning dramatically more accessible, helping a broad range of customers use RL to build better models and get to production faster.

Amazon SageMaker AI is the industry-leading service for machine learning, used by tens of thousands of customers—from startups to the world's largest enterprises—to build and deploy ML and GenAI applications at scale. If you want to build the products that define how the world develops and aligns AI, this is the role for you.

Key job responsibilities
* Define and execute product strategy and roadmap for reinforcement learning on SageMaker AI, working backwards from customer needs in model alignment, optimization, and decision-making
* Partner with applied science and engineering teams to define technical requirements for training infrastructure, algorithms, and tooling
* Own business metrics including adoption, usage, and revenue growth
* Engage directly with customers—from ML researchers at startups to enterprise AI teams—to understand their workflows and pain points
* Create product narratives, product specifications, and business cases for new initiatives
* Analyze the competitive landscape and stay current on research to anticipate where the field is heading
* Represent SageMaker capabilities in customer briefings, conferences, and industry events

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, finance, or economics
- 5+ years of technical product management with internet business experience
- Experience working with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
- Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)
