Role description:
Role accountabilities:
- Lead day-to-day construction management and resident engineering activities for complex water, wastewater, and municipal infrastructure projects.
- Serve as the primary liaison between contractors, clients, regulatory agencies, and design teams throughout project execution.
- Review construction plans, specifications, RFIs, shop drawings, and proposed design changes to ensure constructability and compliance with project requirements.
- Manage and mentor construction management field staff, providing oversight of inspections, project documentation, reporting, and contract administration activities.
- Oversee daily inspection reporting, recordkeeping, correspondence, and preparation of project deliverables in accordance with client requirements.
- Administer construction contracts, including review and negotiation of change orders, contractor payment applications, and field directives.
- Monitor contractor performance, safety compliance, quality, schedule adherence, and overall project execution, proactively addressing issues to maintain project objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations, permits, environmental requirements, and agency standards while fostering a strong safety culture across project teams.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of New York
- 10 years of experience serving as a Resident Engineer, Assistant Resident Engineer, or in a similar construction management leadership role on large capital improvement projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven experience successfully managing multiple projects, field teams, and stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership, communication, and relationship-management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across project teams
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, client service, and delivering successful project outcomes

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $200,000 - $220,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
