As a Senior Safety Specialist, you will partner with the EHSS Manager to lead, maintain, and continuously improve Safety and Health programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. You will serve as the senior on-site Safety liaison for the Bakery Division, overseeing the development, implementation, and enhancement of safety initiatives across the facility.

Here’s more of what you’ll get to do:
- Partner with operations leadership and team members to cultivate a transparent, proactive safety culture.
- Develop and manage safety systems and processes, including policies, procedures, safety meetings, incident reporting and investigations, monthly training, and emergency response protocols.
- Identify, report, and mitigate hazards to ensure a safe environment for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Oversee compliance with OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) program, including maintaining all related documentation and practices.
- Lead key safety processes such as process hazard analyses, management of change, incident investigations, safety observations, 6S walks, safety assessments, and audit tracking.
- Support the EHSS Manager in implementing regulatory programs to meet federal, state, and local requirements (e.g., EPA, SQF, OSHA, NCOSHA, Cal OSHA, DHS).
- Drive engagement in safety initiatives among hourly team members.
- Ensure contractor work complies with company safety standards and procedures.
- Lead Behavior Observation initiatives for the Bakery Division.
- Maintain OSHA logs, incident reports, and investigation records.
- Coordinate and deliver safety training programs (e.g., confined space, lockout/tagout, first aid), including vendor coordination.
- Analyze safety data and trends to prioritize initiatives and improve performance.
- Conduct facility safety and environmental audits in collaboration with the management team.
- Lead the Health & Safety Committee and facilitate monthly meetings.
- Share safety performance insights and trend analyses with leadership.
- Ensure adherence to company Environmental, Health, and Safety guidelines.
- Collaborate on initiatives to improve safety and environmental sustainability.
- Provide guidance and coaching to management on policy and program implementation.
What we require:
- 3+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies.
- Proven experience maintaining OSHA logs and compliance documentation.
- Experience working with regulatory agencies and external vendors.
- Bilingual (Spanish and English).
Preferences:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in health & safety or a related field.
