In this role, you will be a core member of the Google Cloud Interconnect (GCI) capacity planning and network optimization team, working closely with team leads and cross-functional partners. You will play a pivotal role in scaling GCI capacity to unblock the unprecedented growth of Google Cloud’s top enterprise customers. Your work will involve designing and implementing data pipelines that forecast customer demand, match supply with demand, track network usage, and optimize global resource utilization.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- 5 years of experience with network architectures, protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, etc.), and technologies, as well as concepts like scalability, fault tolerance, and consistency.
- 5 years of experience working in C++, Python, Go, or a similar language.
- 5 years of experience in data analysis, working with databases, and querying (e.g., SQL, MySQL, MapReduce).
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
- Experience in developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.
- Experience with Java or Go.
- Ability to resolve customer-related issues with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We are looking for an engineer who is excited about data, networking, capacity modeling, and scaling, who can design and manage project execution across multiple teams.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $174,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and improve systems that connect customer networks to Google Cloud.
- Work with different teams across Google to create and launch new products and features.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest networking technologies and trends.
