As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

In this role, you will lead, mentor, and grow a Technical Program Manager (TPM) team, fostering high performance and collaboration. You will manage hiring, performance, career development, and resource allocation for the TPM team, directly managing all TPMs on the team. Collaborate closely with teams across the Edu Unit, ensuring coordinated timelines, dependencies, and deliverables. You will develop strong relationships across cross-organization and cross-functional stakeholders to advocate for program needs and navigate strategic pivots.Creatively leverage AI tools to solve program problems and scale team impact. You will introduce new processes, best practices, and playbooks to continuously improve and scale development in a measurable way. You will develop a deep understanding of the technical landscape of your programs, enabling you to partner closely with engineering to proactively identify and resolve blockers and escalate issues when necessary.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $192,000-$278,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Implement communications standards across a portfolio of programs including executive and key partner communications.
  • Establish a reliable and visible cadence for program reviews, decision-making, prioritization, and resource stewardship (effective deployment of machine and people resources) whereby improvements such as efficiency and utilization gains are measurable and the impact can be felt organization wide.
  • Lead a governance structure that drives effective executive decision-making. Ensure governance structure effectively exposes and mitigates dependencies.
  • Seek out and identify change management opportunities that increase program velocity and which affect multiple teams. Apply governance over change management to ensure it’s used effectively.
  • Define/manage a program portfolio solving problems that target high business impact for the organization and product area.
