Sheet Metal Team Member - Porter Corp

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for quality of product before final shipment
2. Continuous improvement in support of department and company goals
3. Supports, participates and encourages team building
4. Provides feedback, both positive and negative, to the team, other related departments, and the supervisor
5. Promotes a positive work environment
6. To follow all of Porter Corp’s procedures and policies
7. Work safely and efficiently
8. Stay customer focused
9. Operating a break press, Shears, Punch, and various other machines/equipment
10. Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

1. This position requires a knowledge of basic sheet metal working methods to ensure a quality product is delivered to all customers
2. Work requires a high school diploma or equivalent

Travel

This position requires minimal to no travel

Computer Skills

• Basic Computer skills
• Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems

Other Requirements

1. Knowledge of Press Breaks, Shears and assorted hand tools (preferred)
2. Blueprint reading
3. Very good interpersonal skills
4. Must be open-minded to new ideas and concepts
5. Possesses very good problem-solving skills
6. Must be self-motivated and results oriented

Other Skills

1. Safe and efficient packaging of finished goods to minimize damage
2. Accuracy and completeness of packaged goods shipped to customer
