Role:

Northwood is looking for a Site Engineer Intern who will design, build and deploy hardware that will be part of our global network of sites. You’ll be working directly with real hardware, and the choices you make will have a lasting impact on our operations and business. We’re looking for a versatile candidate, who can be a jack-of-all trades mechanical engineer, electrical systems engineer, and builder. You will partner closely with external companies and cross-functional internal teams to complete your project on a tight timeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Own a ground station hardware (electrical and mechanical) project from inception, through design, production, and field deployment.
  • Get hands on experience building complex ground support equipment (GSE), wire harnesses, and GSE test setups.
  • Support ongoing critical site operations with customer serving ground stations around the world. Identify, troubleshoot, and solve issues with urgency.
  • Work closely with your mentor, electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers to see your projects through to completion.
  • Learn a ton and get exposure to real world problems!
