Position Summary:

The Slot Tech II is responsible for the maintenance and repair of slot machines and related equipment on the casino floor. This includes troubleshooting, repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues and ensuring the machines are in good working order and compliant with regulations. This position will also handle machine moves, installations, and reconfigurations. Responsibilities are performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures. This position will directly report to the Slot Tech Supervisor.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting North Fork Mono Casino’s culture and always demonstrating exemplary Service Standards.
  • Involved in all aspects of machine installation, conversions and relocation.
  • Identify and repair malfunctions in slot machines, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
  • Prepare new machines for operation, configuring software, and ensuring proper functionality.
  • Perform routine slot maintenance, including but not limited to working the casino floor and responding to calls and immediate action work orders.
  • Attend regular mechanic maintenance meetings and share knowledge, work and repair methods with other Team Members and management.
  • Familiar with OSHA safety codes regarding chemicals and electrical equipment used within the department.
  • Maintain up‐to‐date knowledge of EGM.
  • Keep accurate and up‐to‐date records of completed work.
  • Aware of and stay updated on all upcoming events and promotions.
  • Respond to calls from Slot Team Members and provide technical assistance.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.
  • Understanding of electronics, mechanics, and computer systems related to slot machines.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Ability to analyze situations and implement effective solutions.
  • Must have computer skills and be able to use other job-related equipment.
  • Knowledge of typical gaming requirements and internal control policies.
  • Proficient knowledge of player tracking system.
  • Able to maintain positive and effective working relationships with team members, guests and other departments.
  • Understand and comply with all Company and departmental rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Have basic math skills.
  • Able to communicate with Guests in a friendly and positive manner.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience working on slot machines required (i.e. repairing, installing and troubleshooting).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Commission, which includes passing a background investigation.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

  • All work is performed on site in Madera, CA.
  • Requires manual dexterity to perform job related functions.
  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for the duration of their shift.
  • Ability to bend, carry, climb, crawl, crouch, grasp, kneel, lift, pull, push, reach, sit, stand, or stoop during or for the duration of their shift.
  • Ability to use a hand truck.
  • Ability to move up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.

Work Conditions:

Team Members will be in constant contact with fellow Team Members and Guests.  Work includes the maintenance and care of the assigned work area. Work is typically in an area which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, and may contain secondhand smoke. Work may be performed in a confined area. Performance of job duties will require standing, walking, lifting, reaching, pushing, pulling and grasping. Work may be scheduled at various hours, including working overtime, and during evening, weekends, and holidays. Work may entail trained chemical usage.
