What you'll do
We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Social Media Intern to join our Brand & Creative team. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in content creation, digital strategy, and team collaboration within a professional environment. The intern will be integral to expanding our reach and reinforcing our brand voice through compelling visual and written content.
This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Communications & Social Media Designer.
Responsibility
Create, edit, and optimize engaging social design assets (graphics, short videos, stories) for various platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) in collaboration with the Social Media Designer
Participate actively in brainstorming sessions to develop innovative, on-trend ideas for new social media posts and campaigns
Assist in maintaining and organizing the digital asset library and content calendar
Work directly with the Communications Team to submit content drafts for review, incorporate feedback, and secure final approvals
Stay up-to-date with the latest social media platform features, trends, and content best practices
Assist with light administrative tasks related to social media management, scheduling, and basic performance tracking
Job Designation
Hybrid: Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. (Frequency: Minimum 2 days per week; may vary by team but will be weekly in-office expectation)

What you bring
Basic
Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a degree program in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field
Experience with graphic design tools (e.g., Figma, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
Demonstrable understanding of major social media platforms and their respective content styles (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, etc.)
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience creating content for an organization's social media channels (school club, personal brand, previous internship)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Basic experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, InShot)
Familiarity with content management/scheduling tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later)
A portfolio demonstrating graphic design skills and creative content ideas
Wage Transparency
Pay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:
California: $26/hour - $33/hour
