Job Description
The Summit Health Social Media intern supports the marketing and clinical operations team by managing, creating, and scheduling content across platforms like Instagram, Facebook and TikTok — with a goal of increased patient engagement and attracting new patients to the Summit Health practice.
Key responsibilities of this intern will include building and maintaining a regular social media schedule for the Plastic Surgery and Dermatology department social pages, planning and capturing video content at our medical offices and crafting a series of weekly posts to boost brand awareness and engagement metrics for these pages. Ideal candidates are creative, detail-oriented students proficient in social media trends and tools like Canva.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Scheduling: Developing and posting creative content (videos, graphics, captions) according to a content calendar.
- Social Engagement: Responding to comments/DMs, and engaging with followers to increase brand presence.
- Strategy & Analytics: Assisting in brainstorming campaign ideas and analyzing engagement metrics to report on performance.
- Trend Research: Staying up-to-date with current industry trends and social media best practices.
We ideally need this candidate to be available a minimum of 12-14 hours per week, with one day spend filming/creating video content for the department social pages via iphone or other smartphone device.
Qualifications
- Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communication, Advertising or a related field.
- Familiarity with major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud) and scheduling tools (e.g., Meta, Hootsuite) is a plus.
- Highly organized, proactive, and creative.
