We’re looking for a Social Media & Marketing Coordinator at Newport on the Levee, who wants to influence cutting-edge real estate. The perfect person for this job is happy wearing multiple hats in a given day, is able to respond quickly when needed, and has experience and/or interest in any combination of the following: Social Media, Marketing & Advertising, Event Coordination, Graphics & Photography, Arts & Architecture, Hospitality & Retail.
In this role, you will assist in executing marketing and design strategy at Newport on the Levee in Newport, KY.. This position is an integral part of the Creative & Marketing team designed to keep workstreams on track, while providing the opportunity for candidates to learn the fundamentals of project management and learn necessary Creative & Marketing skills. Duties include event ideation and coordination, basic presentation design, social media, project management, sponsorships, market research, as well as providing support to the Creative & Marketing department through general administrative support. In this multifaceted role, no two days are the same.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Marketing/Social Media:
Assist marketing manager with creating and scheduling social media content and platforms (Facebook and Instagram)
Manage and update digital platforms; website, Instagram, Facebook, internal digital platforms
Create marketing materials for multiple audiences
Proficient understanding of Meta Ads Manager, Later, Airtable and all social media platforms
Able to create and edit still and video content via social media platforms and professional video editing software
Understanding of social media trends and marketing strategies
Proofread, revise, and update marketing collateral, advertisements, websites, and social templates
Graphic Design – ability to assist with presentations and make simple edits to collateral, create simple marketing collateral materials
Coordinate sourcing, preparation, production, and distribution of marketing materials
Support Newport on the Levee tenants by providing newsletters, marketing forms, and social media.
Events Support:
Assist marketing manager with planning and execution of property events
Manage property events with support from marketing manager –including but not limited to logistics meetings, event notifications, on-site presence, event recaps, vendor details, etc.
Assist Engineering, Housekeeping, Security, and all other property operations teams in meeting expectations for event logistics and inventory of equipment
Focus on improving existing programs and processes while assisting in the creation of new and varied programs that offer a fresh and inviting guest experience
Manage event sponsorships and vendors with support from marketing manager
Must be available to work some nights, weekends, and holidays for events
Organize Newport on the Levee tenants event promotions
Admin & General Support:
Filing system maintenance and organization
Create forms and templates
Meeting support: scheduling, agenda and meeting materials prep, note taking, and meeting follow up
Support team in general administrative tasks: budgeting tracking, project tracking, data tracking and entry, database updates, etc.
Perform general office duties and errands
Project management of graphic requests and other deliverables
Prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials
May provide direct coordination and communication with outside consultants as well as internal departments
Perform other related duties as assigned like agreements and certificates of insurance
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
1-2 years of social media experience in a professional setting and the ability to provide examples
Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
Knowledge of:
Marketing, including traditional and digital marketing techniques, PR, social media marketing are a plus
Placemaking principles, including what creates a sense of place, aesthetics, inclusivity, community involvement, and sustainability, are a plus
Skills and Abilities:
Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) functional proficiency
Functional proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Canva, Squarespace and Mailchimp
Design Skills: Basic understanding of design elements for creating visually appealing deliverables
Creativity and Innovative Thinking: Ability to create intriguing and engaging experiences, with a fresh and imaginative perspective
Strong Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information to a wide variety of stakeholders
Understanding of Community Engagement: Ability to create and carry out public engagement strategies to garner community support for projects and initiatives
Attention to Detail: Ability to manage small details of a project to ensure accuracy and coherence
Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time and work efficiently
Self-Motivation: Ability to communicate, follow up, work well, and meet deadlines under limited supervision
Project Management: Ability to effectively prioritize, plan, manage, and execute multiple projects at once, tracking deadlines and communicating status proactively
Networking Talent: Capacity to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, community leaders, vendors, influencers and clients
Photography and Videography Skills: Ability to capture aesthetically pleasing content via iPhone
Bonus Skills:
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign- light graphic design capabilities
Social media automation tools including ManyChat
Project management software proficiency (Wrike)
Copywriting
Light video editing or other creative skills
SCHEDULE:
Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule, travel, overtime, and evening/weekend hours to meet deadlines or attend special events. Tuesday - Saturday (10:00 AM - 6:00 PM)
During peak season hours will adjust to accommodate hosted events, special holidays, etc.
IMPORTANT JOB FUNCTIONS:
Majority of work time will be spent in an office environment, however, set up and during events, candidate should be able to meet the following physical requirements:
Able to lift up to 35 pounds
Walking for up to 8 hours a day
Stooping
Bending up to 4 hours a day
Working outdoors for up to 8 hours a day
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, always maintaining professionalism
Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
