About this role

The Social Media Specialist supports the execution and optimization of engaging, high-quality content and community interactions. This role involves producing, editing, and scheduling social content that reflect the organization’s message and promote follower growth and engagement. The ideal candidate is digitally fluent, creative, and detail-oriented, with a strong foundation in writing, content production, and online engagement. 

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

  • Produce and edit diverse social media content—including posts, stories, videos, and community responses—in alignment with platform calendars and brand guidelines. 
  • Work collaboratively with editorial, creative, and strategy teams to deliver accurate, timely, and engaging content. 
  • Support the development, scheduling, and publication of content and campaigns across owned and paid channels. 
  • Assist in monitoring platform metrics and gathering analytics for continuous improvement. 
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for social campaigns and engagement tactics. 
  • Maintain awareness of compliance requirements and best practices in digital communication. 
  • Support campaign execution and help manage social community interactions as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Journalism or Public Relations, or closely related field
  • Ability to manage complex projects and work with deadlines.
  • Ability to create and edit content for multiple platforms and diverse audiences. 
  • Experience using publishing tools and social media management software. 
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; portfolio of work is preferred. 
  • Strong organizational skills and capacity to manage multiple projects. 
  • Team player with enthusiasm for learning and adapting to platform trends. 
  • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and alignment with organizational values.
