Position Duties
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of social services experience; OR
A bachelor's degree plus three years of social services experience; OR
An advanced degree in a social sciences field plus two years of social services experience.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Positions that provide addictive disorder counseling or prevention services will require certification or eligibility for certification issued by the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority (ADRA), or its successor.

Job Duties:
- Serve as a core member of the integrated treatment team to provide whole-person, trauma-informed care that reduces stigma surrounding mental health, substance use, and physical healthcare.
- Deliver ongoing substance use treatment through individual counseling, group therapy, psychoeducation, and random urine drug screens.
- Coordinate with care managers, prescribers, nurses, peer support specialists, and community partners to support holistic improvements in health.
- Plan, prioritize, and manage treatment for complex behavioral health and co-occurring conditions, conducting both initial and follow-up integrated assessments such as ASI/CASI.
- Develop integrated treatment plans that address substance use, mental health, and physical health needs in coordination with LDH clinical guidelines.

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional, Demotion, Lateral Transfer, or Detail to Special Duty
Location: Monroe Behavioral Health ClinicCompensation: NEDHSA is a designated approved National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site. Clinicians who work at NHSC-approved sites are eligible to apply to the NHSC Loan Repayment Program to pay off student loans.
- 2-year Full-Time Clinical Practice: NHSC will pay up to $50,000* for an initial 2 years of full-time clinical practice to clinicians.
