The Digitas culture is made up of fearless, inventive and generous Unicorns of all kinds.
We’re looking for a culture-obsessed, socially fluent strategist who understands how people actually talk online—across platforms, fandoms, comment sections, memes, and “social lore.” You’ll help brands show up in culture in ways that feel native (culture-forward, not brand-forward) by bringing sharp insights, fast-turn ideas, and community-first thinking to briefs and day-to-day social. This role will also support community management—helping shape how the brand engages, responds, and earns relevance in real time.
What you’ll do
Culture + trend intelligence
- Maintain a strong pulse on platform culture (TikTok/IG/X/Reddit/YouTube/etc.), including meme cycles, creator ecosystems, and emerging social behaviors.
- Translate cultural moments into actionable opportunities for brands: what it means, why it’s happening, and how to participate authentically.
- Spot “comment section truth” and social sentiment shifts early, and flag implications/recommendations.
Brief + insight support
- Contribute insights that fuel creative briefs (audience truth, cultural hook, social format, why-now rationale).
- Build or co-build lightweight briefs (even if you’re still learning) and collaborate with strategy/creative to sharpen the idea into social-native executions.
- Package thinking clearly: POVs, quick decks, message boards, and content outlines that teams can move on fast.
Community + engagement
- Support community management needs: engagement guidance, response frameworks, tone calibration, escalation flags, and proactive engagement opportunities.
- Help identify recurring community questions/obsessions and turn them into content ideas and programming.
- Bring a human voice to brand interaction while staying aligned to legal/regulatory and brand safety requirements.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Partner with creative, strategy, and account teams to develop social-first recommendations and content approaches.
- Assist with content planning that balances reactive culture, planned tentpoles, and evergreen brand needs.
- Support campaign rollouts with organic social considerations (formats, hooks, creator behavior, community response).
Must-haves
- Demonstrated organic social experience (publishing, programming, community, or social-first ideation).
- Deep platform fluency: you understand not just trends, but the mechanics (formats, norms, language, humor, timing, and what will get clowned).
- Strong writing instincts for social (captions, comment replies, POV framing, creator-style language).
- Comfort moving fast: you can turn cultural observations into usable insights and ideas quickly.
- Some exposure to briefing (even light)—and eagerness to grow strategy skills (audience, positioning, social role, measurement basics).
- Light social listening experience (native tools or platforms) and ability to synthesize takeaways.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience on integrated campaigns (or supporting paid + creator ecosystems) and understanding how organic and paid complement each other.
- Understand how to build strategic frameworks and insightful POVs that were presented to clients or higher leadership
What success looks like
- You consistently bring culture-forward opportunities that feel native, timely, and on-voice.
- Your insights help briefs land faster and stronger (clear “why now,” clear social format).
- Community engagement feels human and relevant, not canned—helping the brand earn attention and trust.
