Job Description
You will be the Software Configuration Management (SCM) Engineer for the Long Range Anti Ship Missile (LRASM) / Joint Air to Surface Standoff Missile (JASSM) Program. Our team safeguards the integrity of every software baseline, drives configuration status accounting, and ensures flawless release and data management across both internal and COTS software assets.
What You Will Be Doing
As the SCM Engineer you will be responsible for planning, executing, and continuously improving all SCM activities that keep the LRASM/JASSM programs on schedule and compliant with customer and audit requirements. You’ll partner with software developers, engineers, quality, and production teams while employing Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Git.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Define, enforce, and evolve program specific software configuration standards and policies.
• Manage software builds across multiple baselines, troubleshooting and resolving build issues swiftly.
• Maintain the Software Configuration Management System: collect/distribute code, process change requests, generate build documentation, and deliver software to operational environments.
• Analyze proposed software changes for impact on system performance, logistics, and customer commitments.
• Prepare and present change effect reports; coordinate change orders and authorizations with engineering, quality, manufacturing, and subcontractors.
• Participate in Change Control Boards, ensuring rigorous change management practices throughout the program life cycle.
• Develop, automate, and maintain productivity tools (scripts, databases) that streamline configuration identification, control, and reporting.
• Train and mentor developers on SCM tools and software quality standards.
• Support production and development contracts, guaranteeing compliance with new security regulations and audit expectations.
• Interface regularly with internal stakeholders and external customers, acting as the SCM subject matter expert.
