Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Software Developer interested in challenging work on cutting-edge designs with state-of-the-art tools and methodologies. The selected individual will work on our Operations team and will have the ability to grow their role to focus on processes and Lean Manufacturing, if desired. Candidates need to be strong with analytical problem solving and ensuring creative systemic actions are implemented to continuously improve. Duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Analyze new and existing business systems to determine proper software & data solutions
  • Create new, proficient applications that solve business issues
  • Implement modifications to existing applications to fix errors, improve performance, and upgrade interfaces
  • Coordinate with business and technology teams to ascertain system requirements, such as: program functions, input/output requirements, data acquisition, and system controls
  • Create and maintain application and process documentation
  • Work collaboratively with customers to ensure business needs are met
This role requires consistent collaboration with customers. However, the nature of this particular role does provide the ability to work a hybrid schedule. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility at least 50% of the time.

Required Skills and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or technical equivalent (i.e. Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or similar)
  • Experience working with SQL and procedural SQL (PL/SQL, T-SQL, etc)
  • Experience with relational database design
  • Experience in scripting and compiled languages such as Java, Python, VB.net, PowerShell, BASH, batch scripts, etc.
  • Knowledge of web design concepts, such as HTML, CSS, jQuery, AJAX, JavaScript
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must excel at solving problems, debugging, troubleshooting, designing and implementing solutions to complex technical issues. 
Internal/External

Preferred Skills and Education

  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience
  • Certifications in Oracle DB SQL, Microsoft SQL Server
  • Other applicable IT certifications
  • Experience with Oracle Apex and Oracle ERP / E-Business Suite
  • Experience working with Microsoft Server, UNIX/LINUX, Solaris
  • Experience with Git version control (gitlab, github, bitbucket)
  • Familiarity with SPC analysis   
  • General understanding of electronics manufacturing processes
  • Exposure to Industry 4.0 concepts
