As an Intern at Swift, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects involving Java Spring Boot and gRPC technologies. This is your chance to dive into the world of software testing and development, gaining hands-on experience and valuable skills.
Based in Manassas, you will be part of Swift’s 10-week internship. During your internship, you will work alongside a mentor and with a team who can help you develop your business sense.

Qualifications:
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
- Be a rising junior or senior (undergraduate)
- Major: Computer science or related major required
What You'll Do:
- Innovative Projects: Collaborate with the development team to understand the architecture and functionality of our Java Spring Boot gRPC container applications.
- Unit Testing Excellence: Design and implement unit tests using JUnit and Mockito to achieve high code coverage and ensure the correctness of application logic.
- Performance Validation: Write comprehensive unit test cases to validate the functionality, performance, and scalability of gRPC services.
- Set Up & Configure: Assist in setting up and configuring the testing environment, including continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
- Bug Hunting: Identify, document, and report bugs and issues, collaborating with developers to resolve them.
- Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and maintainability.
- Stay Current: Keep updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in unit testing, Java Spring Boot, and gRPC technologies.
- Leverage AI Tools: Utilize AI-powered tools for code analysis, test generation, and productivity enhancement to streamline development and testing processes.
What We're Looking For:
- Java: Proficiency in the Java programming language.
- Red Hat Linux: Understanding of the Red Hat Linux Platform/OS.
- Spring Boot & gRPC: Basic knowledge of Spring Boot framework and gRPC.
- JUnit & Mockito: Knowledge in unit testing frameworks like JUnit and Mockito.
- IDEs: Familiarity with Eclipse and IntelliJ IDEA.
- Containerization: Basic understanding of containerization technologies, including Docker and Podman.
- AI Tools: Awareness or experience with AI-assisted development and testing tools (e.g., code generation, automated test creation, or debugging assistants).
- Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Continuous Learning: Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and frameworks.
