About this role

Description

The Weekly Security Meeting (WSM) team is comprised of engineers and program managers that drive the WSM program, a forum where AWS' CEO-level leadership team, including its CISO, deeply understand the most important timely security issues affecting customers and use that understanding to continually improve AWS' security achievement. The team builds and operates systems to identify, triage, and prepare security issues for executive action, including the use of AI and machine learning models that analyze security incidents to predict which require leadership attention.

You’ve got development experience with technologies like AWS, Java, TypeScript, React, Python, MongoDB, and SQL, though you don't need experience with all of those to start. If you have some background in security that is helpful, but not required.

Key job responsibilities
As a software developer on this team, you'll develop automation tools that reduce the effort required from security and service teams, build integrations across multiple AWS Security organizations, and create mechanisms that enable escalation of emergent security threats. You'll also develop and execute the team's platforming strategy for its disparate set of tools.

Your work directly impacts AWS's security posture by ensuring leadership has deep understanding of systemic security issues, from long-standing architectural challenges to novel threats requiring immediate mitigation, while continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the escalation process.
