About this role
Description
Amazon Haul is our strategic response to the rapidly growing value commerce segment, competing directly with CN retailers. We are building the technology that powers ultra-low-price shopping experiences across 27+ international destinations, enabling Fulfilment From Origin (FFO) from China and Domestic Haul offerings through Amazon's existing FC network. In 2026, Haul International is projected to drive $542M+ in OPS across EU, Japan, LATAM, MENA, and APAC markets.
We are looking for a Software Development Manager (SDM) to join the Cross-Border Haul team. In this role, you will lead a team that design and build systems that directly impact how hundreds of millions of customers discover, price-compare, and purchase value-priced products across global marketplaces. You will manage high-scale, customer-facing problems spanning selection discoverability, competitive pricing engines, seller experience platforms, compliance frameworks, and cross-border fulfillment optimization. Your work will launch simultaneously across multiple countries (Brazil, Mexico, Australia, and beyond), operating at the intersection of Cross-Border technology and Haul's fast-paced quarterly delivery model.
This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where you will ship features on a 13-week quarterly cadence, partner with worldwide Haul teams (US, EU, MENA), and build extensible platform solutions that reduce feature adoption from months to weeks across international marketplaces.
Key job responsibilities
This Software Development Manager role is pivotal to delivering an exceptional experience for Haul customers and sellers worldwide. This leader will manage a team that develops and maintains highly scalable, highly available web services and systems at the heart of Cross Border technology offerings. These services support the Low-ASP business globally, through rapidly evolving and complex demands in a high-9’s availability environment.
A day in the life
* Work with senior leaders to define product/tech strategy and roadmap
* Lead high-quality execution of software products against project plans and delivery commitments; architect and develop the best technical designs for extensibility, reliability, and scalability
* Build and develop a high performance software development organization by hiring, mentoring and growing a best-in-class team
* Own all operational metrics and support
* Work directly with development teams in Seattle, Bangalore, and across the globe on shared projects and dependent deliverables
About the team
The Cross-Border Haul team is a newly formed, high-growth organization within Amazon's Cross-Border technology group. We are responsible for building the technology that enables Amazon Haul to succeed in LATAM (Brazil, Mexico), APAC (Australia), and expanding markets. We operate at the intersection of two of Amazon's most strategic bets: Cross-Border commerce and the value/low-ASP shopping segment.
We partner closely with Cross-Border domain leaders across Selection, CX/Search, Ordering, Pricing, and Returns, as well as with worldwide Haul teams in the US, EU, and MENA.
We operate on a quarterly delivery cadence with clear handshakes (BRD Review → Design Review → UAT Sign-off), shipping features to multiple countries simultaneously. Our engineering culture values extensibility (build once, configure many), velocity (same-quarter worldwide launches), and ownership (you build it, you run it). The problems we solve are genuinely novel — building competitive pricing engines against new-generation e-commerce players, integrating social/influencer-driven discovery into Amazon's shopping experience, and creating compliant cross-border commerce flows across dozens of regulatory regimes.
This is a startup-speed team within Amazon's scale — you will have the autonomy to shape technical direction while leveraging Amazon's world-class infrastructure, data, and customer reach.
