Junior Developer – Job Description

Job Summary

The Junior Developer will play an important role in supporting our Transportation and Logistics technology initiatives. Working with Java and Angular, the candidate will assist in developing and enhancing applications that help improve operational efficiency across the organization. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic domain while contributing to meaningful projects that impact our business and the logistics industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing applications using Java and Angular to support transportation and logistics operations.
• Work with senior developers and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and help implement solutions.
• Support troubleshooting efforts by identifying issues and assisting in performance optimization.
• Follow coding standards and best practices to ensure quality, maintainability, and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews, learning from feedback to continuously improve technical skills.
• Stay informed about new technologies and industry trends to support team innovation.
• Help translate stakeholder needs into basic technical tasks under guidance.
• Ensure assigned work complies with relevant industry standards and company guidelines.
• Collaborate with QA teams during testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Contribute to documentation for development processes and project tasks.
• Participate in various stages of the software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of Java and Angular, with academic projects or internship experience preferred.
• Interest in the transportation and logistics domain and willingness to learn its unique challenges.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
• 2 years of experience in software development (internships, freelance projects, or academic work acceptable).
• Eagerness to learn, adapt, and stay updated with new technologies.
• Good communication and collaboration skills to work with diverse team members.

Compensation: - $ 76,500 and this position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans. Application will be accepted by 4/24/2026
