Summary

The Software Engineer I will join the Application Development team who design and code new business capabilities, automate manual processes and build integrations that facilitate business processes to flow across various internal and partner systems as part of our company’s digital transformation. Our projects range from developing custom portals for internal teams and our customers to automating and optimizing mining and manufacturing processes. The candidate will collaborate with a diverse and global cross functional team of IT, OT, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment. The ideal candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, be driven to continuously learn and improve, and be a self-starter. This is an Entry Level position.

 

 

 

Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist in developing and implementing back-end and front-end software solutions in on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Contribute to integration efforts between the core ERP system and enterprise applications supporting IT and OT (Mining and Manufacturing) processes.
  • Improve legacy processes and systems from file-based solutions to more modern, API based, transactional systems using SOA and/or low-code solutions.
  • Write unit tests and participate in integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipeline.
  • Query databases and work with data schemas that support business operations.
  • Keep up to date on current technologies, languages, and solutions.
  • Work with cross functional Agile teams to create business value.
  • Provide tier 3 technical support under guidance from senior team members and assist with technical troubleshooting.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 

 

Minimum Required Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

 

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, related field or equivalent experience.
  • Foundational experience or coursework with cloud environments (Microsoft Azure preferred).
  • Familiarity with a JavaScript framework for developing web applications (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
  • Experience with one or more programming languages such as C#, Python, or Java.
  • Basic ability to write SQL queries using SQL Server, Oracle, or similar database systems.

 

 

Preferred

  • Exposure to automating business processes using tools such as Microsoft Power Platform or UiPath.
  • Experience or domain knowledge in the manufacturing and/or mining industries.
