Responsibilities:

Intrepid Direct is looking for a motivated Software Engineer Intern to join our team for a 12-week period. This position will learn about our engineering SDLC process, assist with daily production support items, learn about unit and integration testing, and contribute enhancements to our codebase. As part of the internship, you will be paired up with one of our cross functional engineering teams. This team will teach you the ins and outs of how an engineering team functions and how technology helps support insurance operations.

 

Key functions include but are not limited to:

  • Plan work assignments with assigned team members.
  • Collaborate with team to work on well-defined technical tasks.
  • Debug and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Assist with implementation of features in existing applications.
  • Contribute to additional development tasks, including UI, API, and database integrations.
  • Create and update unit and integration tests.
  • Manage code changes using Git.
  • Participate in code reviews.
Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Computer Science or related field.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Basic understanding of related databases.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript with frontend development frameworks.
  • Familiarity with backend development using C#/.NET.
  • Familiarity with unit testing.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Eager to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Angular, C#/.NET, and SQL experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience using APIs.
