Our Data Science and Software teams leverage data to improve decision-making, optimize processes, and support innovation across engineering and operations.

Position Summary

The Software Engineering Intern – Data Science will support data analysis, modeling, and automation initiatives across engineering and operational teams. This role provides hands-on experience working with real-world datasets, applying statistical and machine learning techniques, and developing tools to improve business and technical insights.

This internship is ideal for students interested in machine learning, applied data science, or algorithm development within a healthcare technology environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Analysis & Preparation

  • Perform data cleaning, integration, and exploration across multiple data sources
  • Work with structured and semi-structured data from different systems and formats
  • Validate data accuracy and identify inconsistencies or trends

Modeling & Machine Learning

  • Develop and evaluate predictive models and algorithms
  • Apply statistical and machine learning methods to real-world problems
  • Support model testing, validation, and performance analysis

Visualization & Reporting

  • Create dashboards, visualizations, and reports to communicate findings
  • Translate complex data insights into clear, actionable summaries
  • Support automation of recurring analysis tasks

Tools & Collaboration

  • Use programming tools such as Python for data analysis and modeling
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Software, and Operations teams
  • Contribute to documentation and reproducibility of analyses

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Statistics, or related field
  • College Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student
  • Strong programming and data analysis skills
  • Experience with Python and data science libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) preferred
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and algorithms
  • Experience with AWS-based data tools or ML platforms a plus
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
