About this role
Summary:
The Specialist, Technology, will perform responsible, professional duties of an advanced technical nature in a highly sophisticated local and wide-area network environment. The Specialist, Technology performs duties under the general supervision of an immediate supervisor, who evaluates performance through observation of work, periodic conferences, administrative critiques, and/or records/reports.

Responsibilities:
· Assists staff with technology and automation needs.
· Coordinates with Information Technology management to streamline processes and improve organizational efficiency.
· Represents the Finance Office’s interest on districtwide matters associated with technology use.
· Evaluates, purchases, installs, and manages computer hardware and software resources in a large Local Area Network with access to mainframe and wide-area information.
· Ensures the integrity of data on the Local Area Network through the planning and monitoring of scheduled backups.
· Coordinates the training of personnel in the use of computing resources and advises the Division of Vocational, Technical and Adult Education on technology training needs for the district.
· Represents the Business Division to the Technology Coordinating Committee, which advises the superintendent on technology needs for the district.
· Coordinates with Information Technology management on the most appropriate use of mainframe technology for the Finance Office, and assists with the coordination of the most appropriate use of mainframe technology for schools or departments.
· Performs any other duties as assigned.

Technology Leadership: Leverages technology for improved efficiency and growth. Tracks emerging technologies. Determines organizational implications of major technology trends. Assesses risks and benefits of adopting new technologies. Addresses implementation and change management issues
