Position Duties
As a Special Education Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the monitoring, improvement, and evaluation of special education services across Pennsylvania. In this role, you will perform the following duties:
- Compliance Monitoring: Lead monitoring activities for local education agencies and ensure corrective actions are carried out
- Plan Review: Evaluate special education plans from school districts and intermediate units and provide guidance based on state and federal regulations
- Complaint Investigation: Investigate Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) complaints and prepare detailed findings and required reports
- Technical Assistance: Provide training, support, and clarification on laws, regulations, and procedures for schools and agencies
- Documentation Management: Maintain accurate records and reports related to monitoring, inquiries, and assigned responsibilities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
- Home Headquartered: This position is home headquartered. In order to be home headquartered, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $98,504.00 (before taxes).

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Five years of professional experience in special education including two years as an administrator of a special education program; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes two years as an administrator of a special education program.
