About this role
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of transportation of equipment and material for Capital Projects, Field Engineering, Operations and Maintenance. This person will facilitate and expedite the flow of materials to and from various locations, both domestic and international, and arrange for the offloading and storage of goods when applicable. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Determine best method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, current market dynamics, routes, and rates
- Ensure compliance of all TSA, DOT and Customs regulations and accurate, efficient preparation of all required paperwork for delay-free forwarding
- Consult with material and equipment suppliers to receive correct information on weights and dimensions of all freight and provide to carriers
- Manage carrier RFP and negotiate rates and contracts with carriers
- Ensure carrier’s insurance requirements and contractual terms meet company requirements
- Manage communication between equipment supplier, the carrier, and the project team to ensure timely completion of projects and mitigate issues
- Consult with suppliers and the jobsite to coordinate deliveries and identify, report, and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain up-to-date and accessible files on approved carriers, bids, and projects
- Maintain shipment tracking documentation with all pertinent detail
- Provide accurate and timely updates of delivery status to all involved
- Supplier relationship management of all approved carriers being utilized
- Attend on-site load/off load operations sites as required
- Proactively partner with Engineering early in project schedules to understand requirements
- Develop effective logistics strategies to reduce costs and create process efficiencies
- Work with 3PL and internal stakeholders to manage international shipments and all associated documentation
The successful candidate will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of Logistics experience is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Excellent written/verbal communication
- Strong commercial acumen with focus on cost, schedule, safety, and reliability
- Energetic, self-motivated individual with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
- High ethical standards and commitment to compliance
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment
