Why Work at Lenovo
Description and Requirements
About the Role
This is a senior, hands-on individual-contributor role for an engineer who builds. As AI Enterprise Engineering Architect you partner closely with leadership to build the Qira for Enterprise product end to end. That means taking UX and product designs and implementing them into a shipping product: the user experience and front-end of Qira itself as well as the backend services, APIs, and data layers behind it.
You will extend Lenovo’s core Qira platform into a secure, enterprise-ready layer, inheriting ongoing advances from the mainstream product while adding the enterprise guardrails around them.
You willoperateon the IC track (Architect), setting cross-cutting architecture across the AI Enterprise Engineering organization whileremainingdeeply hands-on in code across the full stack. This is a builder’s role: prototype quickly, harden toproduction, and raise the technical bar for the whole team. Over time this role may grow to lead a team of full-time engineers and/or direct an extended group of contract and systems-integrator partners delivering against the enterprise roadmap while youremaina hands-on technical leader who can build what you are directing.
Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid, 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
WhatYou’llDo
Develop the Qira for Enterprise product end to end: build the user experience and front-end of the product itself, alongside the backend services, APIs, and data layers that power it.
Take UX and product designs and implement them in code into a polished, responsive product experience across the Qira platform (Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and web/cloud).
Own cross-cutting technical architecture across the AI Enterprise Engineering teams (Enterprise Foundation, Deployment, and Engineering Tools),establishingpatterns and standards while writing production code yourself.
Partner directly with leadership, product, and UX/design to translate designs into secure, scalable, well-architected implementations, closing the gap between “designed” and “shipped.”
Build enterprise foundation capabilities: identity and access integration (WorkOS/Auth0, SSO, SAML 2.0, OAuth, RBAC, MFA), the Enterprise Admin Console, audit logging, and data segmentation.
Ensure every administrative and management capabilitysurfacesto the customer’s Enterprise Admin Console, so client IT administrators can self-serve user provisioning and deprovisioning, identity-provider connections, policy and permission configuration, agent governance, phased rollouts, and usage and audit monitoring across their Qira deployment.
Build the enterprise agent creation engine: the capability that lets IT and business users create, configure, deploy, and govern custom Qira agents and agentic workflows for their organization.
Build agentic workflow automation that connects Qira to the enterprise systems employees use every day (e.g., employee onboarding, approvals, and productivity workflows), including theWorkatointegration.
Implement the enterprise knowledge layer for unified, permission-aware retrieval across on-device and cloud data sources, so users get answers without needing to know where information lives.
Design and enforce the guardrails that keep enterprise and consumer Qira experiences, knowledge, and cross-device sync properly separated and compliant.
Serve as the technical interface for enterprise security and compliance: drive Qira for Enterprise through security audits and certifications (SOC 2, HIPAA, ISO 27001, GDPR, and more), own the enterprise security posture and CISO/security reviews, and ensure audit logging, data segmentation, data residency, and data sovereignty requirements are met across every capability in the platform.
Prototype andstand up0→1 enterprise features rapidly, then drive them to production quality with the right observability, error handling, and end-to-end auditability.
Help resolve foundational product/architecture decisions, such as extending the core Qira codebase versus forking, and the guardrails governing how enterprise and consumer knowledge/state stay separated across devices.
Set engineering best practices, lead design and code reviews, and lead and mentor engineers as a hands-on technical leader, with the ability to take on directpeople-managementof a team and/or partner and contractor delivery groups from day one if needed.
Represent the team in deep technical discussions with security, platform, ecosystem partners, and enterprise stakeholders, with answers, not action items.
Basic Qualifications
12+ years of hands-on software engineering and development experience building and shipping production software across the full stack (product front-end/UX and backend services).
3+ years building AI/ML or LLM-based applications, agents, and intelligent workflows.
Demonstrated ability to take UX/product designs and implement them into a shipping product experience, not just the systems behind it.
Deepproficiencyacross the stack: a modern front-end framework (e.g., React/TypeScript) and one or more backend languages (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go, or Rust), on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Proventrack recordas a hands-on technical leader/architect who continues to contribute production code.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, ora relatedtechnical field.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong front-end/product engineering craft: building polished, responsiveapplicationUIs and translating design systems into production code.
Hands-on experience with the team’s core toolchain (Cursor, Linear, and GitHub) is highly preferred, along with fluency in AI-assisted development workflows.
Enterprise identity and authenticationexpertise: SSO, SAML 2.0, OAuth, RBAC, MFA, and SCIM provisioning; direct experience withWorkOSand/or Auth0.
Experience delivering software that meets enterprise security, compliance, and IT manageability requirements, including audit logging, data segmentation, multi-tenant isolation, and security review processes.
Hands-on experience taking products through enterprise security audits and certifications (SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, ISO 27001, GDPR), andengaging directly with CISOs and formal security review processes.
Experience as a founding or early engineer building a product 0→1 in a fast-paced, “act like a founder” environment.
Cross-platform product experience across desktop (Windows, macOS), mobile (iOS, Android), and web/cloud.
