Position Duties
Oversees a diverse range of support, operational, and programmatic activities for a department, agency or facility. Recommends and implements policies and procedures. Provides leadership to subordinate managers and staff.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interviews, hires, directs, trains, evaluates the performance of, and when necessary, disciplines and discharges employees
- Manages human resources and directs administrative activities
- Conducts or participates in the development, review, revision, interpretation, and/or implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines
- Coordinates compliance with rules, regulations, and policies
- Coordinates interaction between department, agency, and facility operating units, other programs and/or external customers as appropriate
- Ensures efficiency, effectiveness and accuracy of all functions through the use of computer systems, management controls, and sound organizational structure
- Oversees the development and on-going management of one or more programs or projects consistent with agency goals and objectives
- Participates in the planning, coordination, development and implementation of long-range goals and objectives
- Plans, administers, and controls the budget
- Develops and implements the division's strategic goals in accordance with the mission of the agency
- Develops and manages operating budget as a tool to accomplish division and agency objectives
- As delegated by the Director, manages fiscal and other administrative functions
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited college or university AND seven years of experience managing professional level staff OR
Ten years of related professional experience AND Seven years managing at the level equivalent to area of assignment OR
Seven years of experience required at the lower-level Dir., Business Ops (GSM014) or position equivalent.
Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that that provided the knowledge, experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
