Duties: |
RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to and receives operational and functional guidance from the UCOR Electrical Authority Having Jurisdiction (EAHJ), or their designee. Job Related Responsibilities: - Perform duties as assigned by the Electrical Authority Having Jurisdiction and Electrical Safety Program Manager.
- Assumes duties of the EAHJ, as required, in their absence.
Under general supervision: - Responsible for providing complex technical support to management by providing advice on various programs, processes, and projects.
- May manage a major phase or component of program or project.
- Provides services and oversight to projects and operations, coordinates projects and operations regulatory interactions, and sets overall strategies, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Act as Subject Mater Expert as needed and appropriate.
- Investigates, analyzes, and determines solutions to problems; provides guidance to co-workers and management, regarding specific applications.
- Presents and recommends technical solutions to policy level issues.
- Recommend policy changes and develop implementation plans, as necessary.
- Interfaces with management to develop and respond to external assessments and audits.
- Participates in conducting assessments, as requested.
- Conducts surveillance and compliance inspections, as assigned.
- Compiles and analyze data for reports.
- Develops and prepares reports and provides presentation of findings.
- Supports regulatory agency and DOE interactions.
- Prepares or supports preparation and implementation of permits and approvals.
- Maintains flexibility to change and promote and/or support Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) activities.
- Participate in causal analysis and root cause analysis, as needed.
- Provide event critique and investigations services, in support of project work.
- Conducts constructive and compliant event investigations, improve by obtaining feedback from participants and peer reviews, prior to issuing mandatory reports.
- Familiar with established policies, methods, and practices of the Company

Job-Related Qualifications Required: |
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture or science or equivalent education, Electrical Inspector License, specific training, or experience in area of expertise, as approved by the pertinent Discipline Chief.
Experience: - Minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience required (with BS degree) or 20+ years of relevant experience (with HS diploma)
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the rules for application of electrical regulation, standards, policies, procedures, state and local codes based on the requirements and guidance from OSHA:
- 29 CFR Part 1910.147, 1910/ Subpart S1 1926, Subpart K, 1926. Subpart V, 1910.269
- NFPA 70, National Electric Code
- NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
- IEEE C2. NESC
- Other recognized electrical safety regulations
- Must have the ability to work with all levels within and across organizations.
- Ability to obtain DOE security clearance
- Previous experience working with Electrical Inspectors
PREFERRED: - Direct experience working at UCOR or other DOE sites.
- Demonstrated familiarity with UCOR policies/procedures and organizational structure.
- Familiarity with contractor interface requirements among DOE Contractors
