Job Description:
The Sr. Professional, Technical Project Manager serves as the primary driver of complex client onboarding and delivery initiatives across Tax IT, Tax Operations, and client stakeholders. This role is responsible for leading end-to-end project execution, ensuring technical solutions are effectively translated into scalable operational outcomes, and delivering high-quality implementations across a matrixed environment.
This position combines strong project governance, technical acumen, and cross-functional leadership to deliver seamless, efficient client onboarding experiences while continuously improving delivery frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Project Leadership
Lead and manage complex client onboarding projects from initiation through execution and stabilization.
Decompose large-scale implementations into structured project plans with clearly defined phases, deliverables, and dependencies.
Project Governance & Execution
Establish and enforce project governance, including timelines, milestones, risk management, and reporting cadence.
Track progress against key deliverables and proactively identify and mitigate risks to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
Technical Project Planning & Translation
Translate business requirements and solution designs into actionable technical and operational work plans.
Partner with Tax IT to define technical requirements (data integration, automation, reporting) and ensure alignment with delivery objectives.
Cross-Functional Program Coordination
Serve as the central point of coordination across IT, Tax Operations, Sales, and Client Success teams.
Drive alignment across stakeholders, ensuring dependencies are managed and silos are eliminated.
Client-Facing Delivery Leadership
Engage directly with clients to lead requirements gathering, solution validation, and implementation planning.
Act as a trusted advisor, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance for client stakeholders.
Quality, Risk & Compliance Oversight
Ensure all onboarding and delivery activities meet Tax Services standards, controls, and compliance requirements.
Perform quality reviews of workflows, data configurations, and deliverables prior to production deployment.
Delivery Leadership & Mentorship
Provide direction and guidance to operations teams, analysts, and project contributors to ensure consistent delivery execution.
Mentor team members on project management disciplines, delivery frameworks, and best practices.
Problem Solving & Issue Resolution
Lead resolution of complex technical, data, and process challenges across the onboarding lifecycle.
Apply structured problem-solving to remove blockers and maintain delivery momentum.
Process Optimization & Innovation
Identify opportunities to improve onboarding methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
Drive initiatives to scale delivery processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the client experience.
Job Qualifications:
What you will Bring:
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience in technical project management, implementation management, or client delivery
Proven track record managing complex, cross-functional projects in Tax Services, Financial Services, or related industries
Technical & Delivery Acumen
Strong understanding of data integration, system implementation, and enterprise delivery models
Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and execution plans
Project & Program Management
Expertise in project planning, governance, risk management, and execution across multiple stakeholders
Experience managing concurrent, high-complexity delivery initiatives
Cross-Functional Leadership
Demonstrated ability to lead without authority across IT, Operations, and client-facing teams
Strong stakeholder management in matrixed environments
Communication & Influence
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical and operational concepts to diverse audiences
Experience interfacing with senior client stakeholders and internal leadership
Critical Thinking & Problem Solving
Proven ability to resolve complex implementation challenges and drive solutions under ambiguity
Bonus if you have
PMP, Agile, or similar certification preferred
Annual Pay Range:
