As a Senior Software Engineer I on our invoicing and billing team, you will support critical monthly billing operations, build and maintain back‑end services, and help modernize our systems into scalable microservices. You’ll join a collaborative, values‑driven team that prioritizes curiosity, accountability, learning, and resilience.

🧭 What You Will Do

Build and Enhance Application Features

  • Develop and code new application features that support invoicing and billing workflows.
  • Write clear, maintainable, and well‑documented code.

Debug, Test, and Troubleshoot

  • Participate in debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Support reliability and performance across core services.

Collaborate to Solve Problems

  • Work closely with engineers, technical leads, and cross‑functional partners.
  • Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and shared problem‑solving.

Plan, Learn, and Grow

  • Learn and apply Pax8 coding standards and design approaches.
  • Prepare technical plans and actively seek feedback to support continuous improvement.

Support Design and Implementation

  • Assist in designing and implementing new services as part of our microservices evolution.
  • Ensure new designs integrate smoothly with existing systems.

Participate in On‑Call

  • Join an established on‑call rotation supporting monthly billing operations.
     

🧩 What You Bring

Skills & Experience

  • One to three years of software development experience.
  • Experience with modern languages such as Java, JavaScript, Groovy, or similar.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and build strong working relationships.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
  • Accountability and follow‑through on commitments.
  • A growth mindset with enthusiasm for learning and development.
  • Ability to receive and apply constructive feedback.

💰 Compensation

$120,000 – $180,000, depending on experience and location.
