About this role

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develops and implements UCOR training programs to ensure that employees are trained commensurate to their job responsibilities
  • Evaluates vendor training programs for use within the Company
  • Formulates instructional design methods utilizing knowledge of specific training needs
  • Selects and/or develops instructional aides, such as handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids and reference guides
  • Assists management in determining training needs
  • May conduct training needs assessments and readiness reviews
  • Develop training policies and procedures for implementation

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of DOE training and qualification programs at Category 1, 2, or 3 DOE or commercial facilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of basic instructor qualifications and standards
  • Knowledge working with outside auditing and oversight groups including DNFSB, DOE, and other regulatory agencies
  • Knowledge of the Company organizational structure
  • Ability to review and approve training materials utilized in the field
  • Knowledge of existing company training programs, as well as state and federal mandated training, DOE or company mandated training, and developmental training provided both internally and externally.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.


Experience: 12+ years of experience in training design and implementation in the engineering and construction industry and/or in a specialized area.


Level Specific Responsibilities: Under general direction, typically reporting to a project manager


  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the training function on assigned project
  • Develops and implements comprehensive training programs across multiple disciplines
  • Develops training policies and procedures
  • Responsible for training budget and oversight
  • May serve as training subject matter expert in one or more specific technical areas
  • May act as a lead for other training staff members
  • Participates in site wide training program management assessments and properly addresses findings and/or corrective actions
  • Assists in the development and management of the Educational Assistance program
