Position Summary
Up to 6 hourly Sustainable Range Program (SRP) Professional Development (PD) Instructor positions are available with Colorado State University (CSU) Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). Military affiliation is not required to apply for this position. This is a part-time (approximately 65 – 130 hrs/month) temporary appointment (not to exceed 9 months) and is administratively assigned to Camp Ripley, MN. The position is 100% remote.
This position provides instructor support for the Army National Guard (ARNG) Range Officer Professional Development (ROPD) program. The position assists with delivering ARNG ROPD program of instruction, classroom preparation, and providing instructional support to students. The ROPD provides the ARNG with a range safety certification program that meets the requirements of the Army proponent Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) safety. ROPD provides the ARNG with the Program of Instruction to maintain minimum levels of qualified personnel within the training center range operations offices. ARNG ROPD courses are conducted at ARNG Training Centers. The position requires travel to training course locations.

The Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) is an environmental consulting unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University. CEMML has provided high-quality environmental services to the federal government, primarily the Department of Defense (DoD), since 1985. Our mission is to support our partners in the sustainable management of their lands while helping to ensure they achieve their own operational goals. Through our expertise in environmental sustainability, conservation, and responsible stewardship of natural and cultural resources, we assist clients in navigating complex environmental regulations and implementing sustainable practices.

Essential Job Duties
This position provides instructor support for the ARNG ROPD program. Potential work activities may include but are not limited to the tasks below:
Assists with delivering ARNG ROPD program of instruction
Classroom preparation
Providing instructional support to students.
Conditions of Employment
Pre-employment Criminal Background Check (required for new hires).
Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by employment start date.
The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Must be willing to submit for NACI background check to obtain a DoD Common Access Card.

Minimum Qualifications
At least 10 years related experience supporting the Army Sustainable Range Program, military range operations, or range safety programs.
Relevant experience creating and reviewing Surface Danger Zones.
Relevant GIS work experience and working knowledge of Range Managers Tool Kit.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior military experience as a Senior Leader Advanced Non-Commissioned Officer in a Combat Arms Military Occupational Specialty.
Familiarity with Geographic Information Systems, Range Facility Management Support System, the Army Range Requirements Model, the Range Training Land Program, and the Range Complex Master Plan Tool.
Demonstrated experience working with federal organizations, state agencies and the military.
Army Basic Instructor Course or Army Common Faculty Development Instructor Course certification.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Salary Range
